Privacy Policy

Who we are

Abner is operated by Webward LLC ("we", "us", "our"). Our website is www.webward.com. Abner is a privacy-first web and SaaS analytics platform available at abner.app.

Privacy by design

Abner is built from the ground up to respect user privacy. Our tracking script sets zero cookies, collects no personally identifiable information (PII), and does not track individuals across websites or sessions. No consent banners are required.

Data we collect from site visitors

When someone visits a website that uses the Abner tracking script, we collect the following anonymous data points per pageview:

  • Page URL (query parameters containing personal data are stripped)
  • Referrer URL
  • Browser name and version
  • Operating system
  • Device type (desktop, mobile, tablet)
  • Country, region, and city (derived from a hashed IP — see below)
  • UTM parameters (source, medium, campaign, term, content)

We do not collect names, email addresses, fingerprints, or any data that can be used to identify an individual visitor.

IP address handling

IP addresses are hashed immediately upon receipt using a one-way hash with a daily-rotating salt. The raw IP address is never written to disk or stored in any database. Because the salt changes every day, it is impossible to correlate a visitor across days. The hashed value is used solely to derive approximate geolocation and to count unique visitors within a single day.

Data we collect from account holders

When you create an Abner account, we collect:

  • Email address (for authentication and account communications)
  • Name (optional, for display purposes)
  • Billing information (processed by Stripe — we do not store card numbers)
  • Workspace and site configuration data

Sub-processors

We use the following third-party services to operate Abner:

Provider Purpose Location
Google Cloud PlatformApplication hosting, database, file storage, infrastructureUS
StripePayment processingUS
ResendTransactional emailUS
SentryError monitoringUS

International data transfers

Some of our sub-processors operate in the United States. Where data is transferred outside the European Economic Area, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or equivalent safeguards provided by our sub-processors to ensure adequate protection of your data.

Data retention

  • Pageview event data: retained for up to 2 years, then automatically deleted.
  • Account data: retained for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
  • Billing records: retained as required by applicable tax and accounting laws (typically 7 years).

Your rights under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Rectify inaccurate data
  • Request erasure of your data
  • Restrict or object to processing
  • Data portability
  • Lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority

Note: Because we do not collect personal data from website visitors, GDPR data subject rights apply only to Abner account holders.

Your rights under CCPA

If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we collect, request its deletion, and opt out of its sale. We do not sell personal information. To exercise your rights, contact us at the address below.

Data deletion

Account owners can delete their account at any time from their account settings. This permanently removes all associated account data from our PostgreSQL database and queues deletion of all event data from our analytics store. Full deletion is completed within 30 days.

Children's privacy

Abner is not directed at children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.

Analytics on this website

We use Abner (our own product) to collect anonymous usage analytics on abner.app. This means the same privacy-first approach described above applies to visitors of this website: no cookies, no personal data collection, no cross-site tracking, and no consent banners required.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email to account holders. The "last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
